What BetStop does and does not cover
This matters, and most affiliate sites get it wrong or stay quiet about it.
BetStop is the Australian Government’s national self-exclusion register. Sign up once and every wagering operator licensed in Australia is required to close your account and stop marketing to you. It works, it is free, and the minimum exclusion period is three months.
What it does not do is reach offshore casinos. WinSpirit operates on a Curaçao licence, which puts it outside the register’s authority altogether. Registering with BetStop will not close a WinSpirit account and will not stop you opening one.

Tools inside your account

Chasing losses, and why the maths never forgives it
The most expensive belief in gambling is that a losing run is owed a correction. It is not. Every spin, hand and round is independent of the one before it, and the house edge applies identically to each.
Doubling stakes to recover a deficit, the martingale pattern, feels like a system and behaves like a cliff. Each doubling needs the next win to arrive before you hit either the table maximum or the end of your bankroll, and both of those are much closer than people expect. Six consecutive losses on an even-money bet turns a A$10 stake into A$640, and six consecutive losses are not rare.
Gambling is not an income
Treated as entertainment with a fixed budget, an online casino is a leisure expense like any other. Treated as a way to make money, it is a guaranteed loss over time, because every game on the platform is priced with a margin for the operator.

Age restriction
You must be 18 or over to gamble anywhere in Australia. The minimum age is the same in every state and territory, and it applies online exactly as it applies in a venue. Accounts opened by minors are closed and any winnings voided during verification.
If children use your devices, consider filtering software such as Gamban, Net Nanny or the parental controls built into your operating system. If you are self-excluding, blocking software on your own devices is worth adding on top of any account-level limit.
